What is GEMSS?
GEMSS is a non-profit organization of parents and professionals who are concerned with supporting and creating expanding opportunities for the education of gifted and talented students of all ages and their families. GEMSS supports and encourages the development of such programs, both within the public schools and as extra-curricular activities utilizing community and individual resources.
Why join GEMSS?
· Opportunities to meet and ask questions with EMS ISD administrators responsible for G/T, PACE and advanced academics.
· Free educational programs and events for you and your family, including Webinar Chats and Lunch & Learns.
· Monthly Coffee Chats, casual social gatherings to chat with other G/T parents.
· Stay informed! Receive updates on how House Bill 3 (signed into law by Governor Abbott on June 11, 2019) impacts G/T program requirements and funding, and how the newly revised Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students provides stronger and improved accountability and guidance in serving and supporting G/T students within our TX public schools.
· Show your support for G/T education at EMS ISD! Your GEMSS board works directly with EMS ISD administration to advocate for your G/T kiddos.
